Frequently Asked Questions

What is CBD Oil?

Cannabidiol, known as CBD, is a naturally-occurring component of industrial hemp plants. Unlike THC, the cannabinoid that most people have heard of, CBD is a non-psychoactive part of the plant and is being scientifically investigated for numerous possible health benefits.

Is CBD oil legal?

Yes. Hemp-derived CBD products are currently lawful for distribution in the United States of America. Products that are manufactured from agricultural hemp that contain less than 0.3% THC are exempt from the Federal Controlled Substances Act, and are therefore allowed to be legally distributed. Our PURCBD is 100% THC free completely complies with federal regulations and current standards and guidelines.

In order to protect you we have provided you with a certificate of analysis (COA) and the 2018 Farm Bill for each CBD product that we sell. This COA number will be attached to the product you have purchased. You can find the COA and Farm Bill in the shopping cart on each CBD product. Click here for a copy of the 2014 Farm Bill.

What is the Differences between Hemp and Marijuana?

Marijuana is high in the psychoactive compound THC, or delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol, the compound in marijuana that causes a high. Marijuana is rightly considered to be a “drug.” It is cultivated mainly for medicinal and “recreational” purposes.

Hemp is not marijuana. Although hemp does contain some cannabinoids, it has negligible amounts of THC. In fact, in order to be legally cultivated, hemp must contain less than 0.3% THC. Most industrial hemp is grown for its fiber and contains very small concentrations of cannabinoids and terpenes, so it is not the most desirable source of CBD oil. While many of the CBD products on the market are produced from this kind of industrial hemp, the CBD oil in PURELY products is made from a CBD-rich strain hemp plant known as PCR hemp. PCR is stand for phytocannabinoid rich — it contains as much as ten times the concentration of CBD as generic industrial hemp and only negligible amounts of THC. It does not cause a high.

What is the difference between THC and CBD?

The most significant difference between THC and CBD cannabinoids is that Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) has psychoactive properties that affect your brain and give you that ‘high’ feeling, and Cannabidiol (CBD) does not. CBD is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid and is known for its medicinal qualities.

Does your products contain THC?

No. All of PŪRCBD™ products are 100% THC-free. Our lab reports show no detectable THC.

What is the difference between Hemp (seed) Oil and CBD Oil?

Hemp (seed) oil – is most commonly sourced from the cannabis sativa (Industrial Hemp) plant seed. It is also called Hemp Oil or Hemp Seed Oil. Hemp Oil is regulated in its production and is tested for THC and CBD levels, however, it does not contain either of those cannabinoids. Hemp Oil is most commonly referred to as a super food, because of the high levels of omegas, vitamins, and other nutrients.

CBD oil (Cannabidiol) – is a phytocannabinoid found in both agricultural hemp and cannabis. CBD can affect virtually every biological system in the human body via the endocannabinoid system and has been identified for its health benefits in both humans and animals.

What health benefits can I get from CBD oil?

There is scientific proof that CBD oil has healing properties and a variety of health benefits. There are numerous case studies and testimonials from patients who claim that CBD oil has helped them with pain, stress, anxiety, and a plethora of other issues and conditions.

We cannot specifically state conditions that have been shown to be helped by CBD oil due to DSHEA (Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act) and FDA (US Food and Drug Administration) guidelines. However, we do encourage you to do your own research, consult a doctor and decide whether CBD oil has the potential to benefit your life, as it has benefited others in many cases.

Can CBD oil get me high?

No. CBD is non-psychoactive and does not cause feelings of euphoria or of being ‘high’. CBD oil, especially extracted from hemp, usually contains very minimal trace amounts of THC that will likely not affect you in any way. All of PŪRCBD™ products are completely 100% THC-free.

Will I test positive on a drug test if I use PŪRCBD™ products?

No. PŪRCBD™ products are completely 100% THC-free, so you should not fail any drug tests. However, there is a possibility for a false positive on a drug test if you take CBD products, and we hold no liability if that were to happen.

How does CBD work in my body?

CBD interacts with your body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS) to promote health and wellness. This system works to keep everything from the nervous system to the immune system balanced using neurotransmitters that bind to cannabinoid receptors.

Working in this manner, CBD has been identified for its health benefits in both humans and animals. Even healthy people can benefit from CBD oil supplements, as these products support immune function and can help keep diseases at bay.

Are your CBD products safe and are they effective?

Absolutely. PŪRCBD™ extracts phyto-cannabinoids from CBD-rich strain hemp plant that are free of chemical fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides. PŪRCBD™ has incredibly rigorous standards of testing for purity, quality and potency of the CBD we distribute.

We use third-party lab testing procedures to ensure accuracy and clarity in each batch and we can provide a Certificate of Analysis.

What’s the different between Full Spectrum vs. Broad Spectrum CBD Oil?

Full spectrum CBD oil has had no cannabinoids removed, including the psychoactive compounds. If you see full spectrum on the label, be sure to check out the company’s lab reports. Most likely it has a small amount of THC in it.

Broad Spectrum CBD oil contain an array of cannabinoids and terpenes but zero THC based on the manufacturer’s lab testing. These products have often gone through additional processing to try to isolate and remove all the THC as possible while still maintaining the other cannabinoids and terpenes. With broad spectrum CBD oil, you are still getting the synergy of the other cannabinoids. The only one missing from the party is THC.

What are terpenes?

Terpenes are a class of volatile organic chemical compounds produced in the flower clusters of the cannabis plant. Terpenes are what give cannabis its distinct aromas and have been utilized by humans for thousands years in aromatherapy. Terpenes also create an “entourage effect” that helps your body process CBD in a more natural way.

What is the CBD Entourage Effect?

The results produced from the synergistic interaction of the cannabinoids, flavonoids, terpenes, and fatty acids naturally found in cannabis. Each of the compounds has particular effects on the human body. Because terpenes can affect how the body responds to cannabinoids, the combined effect is often greater than the sum of the individual effects.

What dose of CBD oil should I take?

CBD dosage is based on individuals’ body differences and on personal preference. Our advised starting serving size is one dropper twice a day but we generally recommend exploring to see what works best for you.

What is the best way to take CBD oil?

CBD can be vaporized and inhaled for the quickest effects. However, there are health risks involved. When vaping CBD, it’s important to always be cautious about the technique you’re using and the amount of e-liquid you are vaping at one time as well as the temperatures you are heating the liquid. It induces respiratory complications such as allergic reactions, asthma, coughing and even nausea especially when you over-inhale it.

CBD oil or tincture can be taken sublingually for safer. Ingestion in the form of capsules or foods, or by applying the CBD topically with creams or gels. Each person has different needs and preferences, so there is no designated ‘best way’ to take CBD oil. That decision is ultimately up to you, according to your own personal lifestyle and health goals.

Are your PŪRCBD™ products organic, gluten-free, and non-GMO?

How should I store my CBD oil? What is its shelf life?

CBD itself does not have an expiration date. However, for the best shelf life and to ensure no loss in potency, you should store your CBD oil product in a cool, dark area. Don’t allow it to sit in direct sunlight. If properly stored, your CBD oil will have about a 12 – 16 months shelf life.

Should I take CBD with food?

There are usually no issues when taken on an empty stomach. The short answer is that if you’re taking CBD oil by placing the drops under your tongue, it doesn’t matter if you take it with food. This is because the CBD is being absorbed directly into your bloodstream through the mucus membranes in your mouth.

Are there any negative side effects?

CBD is not known to have any negative side effects. However, large servings of CBD may cause drowsiness.

Will I need a doctor’s prescription to purchase CBD products?

If are taking prescription medications, consult with your doctor before use.
